Make a data protection complaint

If you believe CertSync has handled your personal data in a way that breaches data protection law, you have the right to complain to us. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, make appropriate enquiries without undue delay, keep you informed of progress, and tell you the outcome.

If your complaint is about how an electrician or contractor used your details on a certificate, they are responsible for that use. We will still acknowledge your complaint, pass it to them and help them respond.

You do not need a CertSync account to complain, and you can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at any time.

Complain using this form

We use the details you give us only to handle your complaint and keep a record of how we handled it, as the law requires. We keep that record for six years after we close the complaint. Our Privacy Notice explains your rights.

Or complain another way

If you would rather not use the form, email privacy@certsync.co.uk, or write to us at the postal address in clause 2.3 of our Privacy Notice. A complaint made this way carries exactly the same rights.

You can also complain to the ICO

Complaining to us does not remove or limit your right to complain to the Information Commission (the ICO), the UK data protection regulator. You may complain to the ICO at any time: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
