Electrician scheduling: who is on site, which day
The CertSync schedule books each electrician onto a job one day at a time, so the office can see the whole team's week and everyone knows where they are going. A name on a job tells you who owns it. The schedule tells you who is on site on Thursday.

The team, by day
- Who is on site, which day. Each person is booked onto the days they are on site.
- A week or a month of the whole team in one view.
- Days off show on the schedule, and CertSync warns you if you book someone who is away.
- Staff request time off from the schedule, and an admin or office user approves it.
- Anyone you book onto a job, or take off it, gets a notification.
- A day-by-day agenda on a phone, for the person standing in the van.
Planning the week, step by step
An assignment in CertSync is one person, one job, one date. Everything on the schedule is built from those.
- Open the weekThe calendar shows the whole team across a week or a month, with each day showing who is booked on which job and who is off.
- Book a person onto a dayPick the day, choose who to book and which job. Jobs already on the calendar that day are listed first. If the job does not exist yet, you can create it from the same place.
- See the warning if they are awayIf the person is marked as away that day, CertSync makes the booking and tells you straight away, naming the leave it clashes with. Take them off again if it was a slip, or keep it: sometimes a call-out matters more than the diary.
- Let the team knowThe person you booked gets a notification in the app, and by email if they have email notices switched on. Taking someone off a day tells them too.
- Change it when the plan changesMove people as the week moves. When a job is closed, its bookings from tomorrow onwards come off the schedule and the people affected are told. Today and earlier stay as the record of who was on site.
A person and a date
Putting a name against a whole job does not tell you who is in the van on Thursday. Booking by the day does, and that is why the schedule can answer “can you be at the Nortons' on Thursday” from a screen instead of from somebody's head. It also means a two-week job with a gap in the middle looks like what it is.
Your dashboard shows which jobs are running past their date, so at-risk work surfaces without opening the schedule. On a phone the same information is a day-by-day agenda, built for the person standing in the van rather than the person planning the month.
Time off is on the same screen as the work
An admin or office user can mark anyone as away for a day or a run of days. Staff can request their own time off from the schedule; the request waits until an admin or office user approves or rejects it, and nobody can approve their own. A person can withdraw a request, or cancel leave that was already approved.
Approved days off show on the schedule against the person, not as a blank over the whole team, so the office can still see who else is free that day. Booking someone who is away brings up a warning rather than a refusal.
The office sees the team. Everyone sees their crew.
Admins and office staff see the whole team's diary and can filter it down to one engineer. Everyone else sees the people booked on the live jobs they are on, so an installer knows who they are working alongside without seeing the rest of the firm's week. Booking people stays with the people who run the diary.
When someone leaves the team, their bookings from tomorrow onwards come off the schedule, so a job is never quietly staffed by a person who is no longer there. Scheduling is part of CertSync PRO. See pricing for what a team of your size costs.
What the schedule does not do
It does not plan routes, estimate travel time, or produce timesheets for payroll. It tells you and your team who is expected where, and it does that on a phone as well as a laptop.
Questions about scheduling electricians
What is electrician scheduling software?
Software that records which electrician is on which job on which day, so the office can plan the week and each person can see where they are going. In CertSync it is the team schedule in PRO, and it works from the same jobs and certificates you already keep there.
Can I book someone who is on holiday?
Yes, and CertSync warns you. Days off are shown on the schedule, and booking a person on a day they are marked away brings up a warning naming the leave. It does not stop the booking, because the person doing the booking may know something the diary does not.
How do staff ask for time off?
From the schedule. A person enters the dates they want off and the request waits for an admin or office user to approve or reject it. Nobody approves their own request. A person can withdraw a request, or cancel leave that was already approved.
Who can see the whole team schedule?
Admins and office staff see everyone and can filter the schedule by engineer. Everyone else sees the people on the jobs they are booked on, which is enough to know who they are working with.
Does the schedule work on a phone?
Yes. On a phone the schedule becomes a day-by-day agenda. It is stored on the device, so the schedule can be read with no signal. Booking someone onto a day needs a connection.
Does it do timesheets or route planning?
No. The schedule says who is expected where and when. It does not plan routes, estimate travel time, record hours worked or feed payroll.
